The Weekly Wrap Up is where we review what went on this week at Winnipeg’s best training gym, Shinobi Fitness.

Lean and Mean Nutrition Challenge
The Shinobi Challenge, aka the Lean and Mean Nutrition Challenge started on October 3 and will run for 3 months. We want it to be a slower, more gradual process so that these healthy habits can be used your entire life.

Coach Suavek Team Update
As we are moving forward and continue working on improving our overall health/wellness, I’d like to remind everyone about the importance of stretching, working on your flexibility, and most important mobility – which is ability to move a limb through full range of motion. What we do at Shinobi Fitness or when playing sports, performing recreational activities as well as daily physical tasks can result in reduced range of movement in any joint. When the joint is unable to move through its full range it is compromised. When that happens surrounding joints pick up the so-called slack, creating extra stress all around.For example, it’s common knowledge that running tends to shorten the hamstrings, calf muscles and hip flexors, resulting in decreased free movement in simple full-range exercises, such as bodyweight squats.

So what do we do?

Mobility Exercises – which is a great warm-up, an active recovery ,or a stand-alone workout.
Please understand that as much as we try we are unable to incorporate enough mobility into our daily 1hour class. We as coaches understand the importance of it and are here to help. That’s why we decided to launch our Mobility Saturdays. Please join us every Saturday at 8:30am for a 25-30min session.

As always ask us for ideas on what you can do on your own before/after the class or at home to help your body improve and be better prepared.
